Dr. Cynthia Bruns is a practicing child and adolescent psychiatrist.
Cynthia Bruns, D.O. earned her medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993. Dr. Bruns completed a family practice internship at the Medical College of Georgia in 1994. Following her family practice internship, Dr. Bruns moved to San Antonio, Texas where she completed her residency in adult psychiatry and a 2-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry in 1998.
She has been serving the Tulsa community for over 16 years. During this time Dr. Bruns has worked in both acute and residential inpatient care, in addition to outpatient clinics. Most recently she has worked at a non-profit clinic as part of a collaborative comprehensive treatment panel providing assessment of children with complex medical and psychiatric illnesses. Prior to moving to Tulsa Dr. Bruns treated patients at a university student health center and provided consultation to local schools.
Dr. Bruns is able to draw from her diverse clinical experiences to treat and advocate for children, adolescents and their families. Her approach is patient centered with additional emphasis on family relationships. Dr. Bruns utilizes medications and therapies appropriate for each patient. As a parent of two young adults she keeps in mind her experiences when approaching patients and their families.
